Illustrations for ‘Haven’t we all wanted to sink in a sequined outfit?’, 2024.
I was commissioned by Going Down Swinging to create an illustrated response to Madison Godfrey’s poem, as part of the journal’s ongoing “Comic Poems” series.
Inspired by Madison’s beautiful water imagery, I used a combination of watercolour, coloured pencil and digital layering. You can read the poem in full on GDS’ website, but I’ve shared the first ‘panel’ and some preparatory sketches below.
